What is the difference between an original and a limited edition print?
An original is a one-of-a-kind painting created by Candice Swarts.
Limited edition prints are high-quality archival reproductions, strictly limited to a set number of copies to maintain integrity, value, and collectability.
What materials are used?
Original paintings are created using professional-grade Golden Heavy Body Acrylics, known for their rich pigmentation and archival quality, on gallery box canvas with a 40 mm deep edge. The deep-edge canvas provides a clean, contemporary profile, allowing the artwork to be displayed framed or unframed according to the collector’s preference.
Limited edition prints are produced using museum-quality giclée printing on Hahnemühle Photo Rag® Ultra Smooth (305 gsm) - a premium 100% cotton archival paper celebrated for its exceptional colour depth, fine detail reproduction, and museum-grade longevity.
Are the artworks signed?
Yes. All original paintings and limited edition prints are hand-signed by Candice Swarts. Limited edition prints are additionally hand-numbered beneath the image in accordance with fine art printmaking tradition.
Does the artwork include a Certificate of Authenticity?
Yes. Every original painting and limited edition print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity confirming the artwork details and edition information where applicable.
Will sold-out editions be reproduced?
No. Once a limited edition is sold out, no further prints of that artwork will be produced in that edition size or format.
How can I pay for my artwork?
Payments are securely processed online via iKhokha, allowing collectors to pay using major credit and debit cards.
Alternative payment methods, including EFT bank transfer, may be arranged on request. Please get in touch via the Contact page or email studio@candiceswartsart.com.
When can I expect my artwork to arrive?
Within South Africa, deliveries are fulfilled via The Courier Guy. Orders are typically processed, packed, and delivered within 5-8 business days, depending on destination.
International shipping is available worldwide through trusted couriers including DHL and FedEx. Delivery times typically range between 7-14 business days, depending on destination and customs processing requirements.
How are shipping rates calculated?
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on destination and package size. Collectors are encouraged to review shipping charges before completing their purchase.
Please note that customs duties, taxes, and import fees charged by the destination country are not included and remain the responsibility of the collector.
How are artworks packaged?
Original paintings are carefully wrapped using acid-free protective materials and securely packaged in rigid boxes designed for fine art transport. Original artworks are shipped flat to ensure safe delivery.
Fine art prints are sold unframed and carefully packaged using archival materials to ensure safe transit.
Each print is interleaved with acid-free glassine paper, protecting the artwork from abrasion, moisture, and ink transfer during handling and shipping. Prints are rolled loosely with the image facing outward and shipped in a wide protective tube, allowing the paper to follow its natural curve while minimising tension on the printed surface.
This is standard practice for museum-quality fine art prints and helps preserve the integrity of the artwork during transport.
How should I care for my wildlife artwork?
Upon arrival, collectors are advised to gently remove the print from the tube and allow it to rest image-side up on a clean, flat surface for several hours before framing. Professional framing using archival materials is recommended to ensure the longevity of the artwork.
To preserve the vibrancy of the artwork, avoid direct sunlight and areas with high humidity. UV-protective glass is recommended for framed prints, while original canvases may be lightly dusted using a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
Do you accept commissions?
Commissions are not currently offered. New works are released periodically through the Gallery.
