My work is about connection.
I am a self-taught South African wildlife artist whose work captures wildlife through detailed acrylic paintings. Inspired by nature's quieter moments rather than its dramatic ones, I focus on revealing the intensity of a gaze and the stillness before movement. Through my paintings, I explore the silent connection that can emerge when we pause long enough to truly observe, inviting viewers to slow down, look closer, and experience the beauty found in these often-overlooked encounters.

Every painting begins with careful observation. Through layers of colour, texture, and refinement, Candice gradually develops each piece, allowing the gaze, character, and quiet presence of the animal to emerge. From the first brushstroke to the final protective finish, each artwork is created with patience, intention, and attention to detail.

Original paintings are created using professional-grade Golden Heavy Body Acrylics, known for their rich pigmentation and archival quality, on gallery box canvas. The deep-edge canvas provides a clean, contemporary profile, allowing the artwork to be displayed framed or unframed according to the collector’s preference.

Each painting is developed through multiple layers of colour and detail, allowing the character and emotion of the animal to emerge through each layer of the painting.

Every original artwork is signed, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, and finished with an archival varnish to help protect and preserve the painting for years to come.
